my poor baby 2...

we have determined that it is the soil that is causing duke to have an allergic reaction. so we are taking him to the vet again to have his ears looked at for sure. his ears have red bump/bite marks all over! and this morning when i went out to look at him his right ear was bleeding! i got blood on my arm there was that much blood. I am worried about my baby... =( I hope the vet can tell us what's wrong or something to make it go away. My poor baby duke...

So last night as austin was putting duke away he noticed duke looked a little different... austin came and got me and as soon as i saw my baby i was so scared and my heart kinda stopped for a second. Duke's face was all swollen and had bumps all over and he wouldn't open his mouth at all and wasn't happy. he seemed miserable. He had bumps all over his legs and his ears were really swollen =(

I was so worried about him. I looked all over and couldn't see any bite marks or anything so its still unclear what caused it.

We started to play with him to see if he would start acting like himself which he did eventually. he was playing and running around and the swelling went down a little but it was still there. i told austin that i wanted to take him to the vet the next day to which he agreed.

The vet visit today went fine. dukes swelling was down but his ears were still pretty swollen and his legs still had the bumps. the doctor told us to give him benadryl, normal human adult benadryl. i thought it was weird but the doctor said it helps dogs just like it helps humans. 2 pills 3 times a day.

and now you are caught up with what's going on. I'm worried about duke and if all the swellings not gone by monday morning i am going to take him in again and they will give him a stronger drug. I really hope that all the swelling goes down... my poor dukers... =(

hello world!!

It has been a long time since i have blogged! i would LOVE to say that a ton has happened in the last month but that would be a lie. not much has happened. here is a list of things that have happened...
1. We found out austin didn't get the CO job in Idaho... =(
2. duke got a scrape in his left front leg. poor baby...
3. we visited uncle doug and aunt roxie on our way back from washington and it was so much fun! Uncle doug gave me a buck knife that i can use to gut my deer!!...well as soon as i shoot a deer i will be able to use it =) they had a fox hound and she was just adorable! she was so loud but such a good friend for duke! so much energy!!
4. I have decided to cut my hair. not a big chop off but a style. my hair is just looking hideous and because of that i have no wanting to take the time to do it because it doesn't look good when i do straighten it. So i am having patrick help me out with my problem. he is such a great brother =)
5. I signed up for an online class!! Everyone(mainly all my family) is worried that i won't ever finish so i decided that i will sign up for one so that they all know that i am serious about finishing. I am going to take American Heritage first. I am NOT looking forward to it but it will be a start.
6. I am crocheting a blanket =)
7. Austin and i made dinner for the family tonight. General Tso's chicken, yum!
8. the relief society presidency, the president and 1st counselor, came by to welcome me to the ward and brought me a WHOLE plate full of goodies!! pumpkin chocolate cookies, two cupcakes with strawberries on top!!, and rice krispie treats with cocoa pebbles =) i think i am going to eat one of those treats now =) see ya!!

AHHHH!!! =S

Oh i am so nervous! Austin is in his interview and i think i was more nervous than him when he went in! haha but i know he'll do great! I asked him questions yesterday that they might ask him and he did really well. i hope that they are nice to him and that he stays calm. =) He will do great! =) I am so excited to hear how it goes! =) Ahhhh!!! =)

one year anniversary!!! + a weekish =)

Our Road Trip =)

Our road trip started yesterday morning at 10am. we set out with a cooler filled with PB&J and turkey sandwiches and oatmeal creme pies! yum! of course we also had our clothes and the duke-ster =) it was about a 5.5 hour drive and duke did really well!! it wasn't too hot but our AC doesn't work so it was a little hot in the car. We checked into our hotel and rested. It felt so good to stretch after being crammed in the car for 5 hours. duke wasn't a huge fan of a hotel room at first but he soon enjoyed being able to get up on the bed and snuggle with us =)

boise is beautiful and its really nice weather today. the weather was suppose to be in the high 80's but it doesn't even feel that bad. its overcast and pretty. =)

we went to a boise ward today for church and the ward was tiny! they didn't even use the chapel overflow room! and they could have easily fit everyone in the middle section and still have a couple rows to spare. haha there was a really sweet man that bore his testimony and his wife is anti religious and he said that i hope when the bishop came and visited them that the bishop might have thought his wife was the sister of satan! haha =) everyone laughed! haha he didn't mean it of course and i KNOW the bishop wouldn't think that of someone but it was still very funny =) he was such a sweet guy and you could tell that he really loved his wife =)
