Yesterday...ugh

Yesterday was probably one of the worst days ever. I can only think of that day at the moment because it is so fresh in my mind; but i am sure that i have had much worse days then yesterday.

So to give a little background before the story, I had an interview scheduled at 11:30am on tuesday with a loan company to be an office help. I needed to take a shower because i hadn't showered since sunday morning and we were out of eggs and the washer wasn't working the night before.

Austin woke up at 5:20am and woke me up to. He got out of bed and did his normal morning routine of tending to the fire, etc. I lay in bed try to get my eyes to stay open and eventually i succeeded. I got out of bed, with a little stumble, and went to the bathroom to turn on the shower and let the room fill with wonderful warm steam, but when i pulled out the nozzle nothing came out, nothing happened. I then hurriedly went to each faucet in the house(it didn't take long because we only have two) to see if they were working. With the look of dismay and disappointment I went and told austin that our pipes were frozen and that we weren't going to be getting any water. I was totally crushed. I had been looking forward to that warm shower and then come to find that there was no water to be had.

Well I was freezing and it was much colder this morning than any of the other mornings. I turned on the oven and opened the door to let out heat. We had a big fire going and the space heater plugged in. I noticed that austin had plugged the space heater into a different outlet than the normal one. I didn't question it till later...

I was putting bread into the toaster for breakfast because there was no water that meant no oatmeal and since we were out of eggs it meant toast for breakfast. Well i plugged in the toaster and pushed the lever down. 10 seconds later they popped up barely warm. I tried to push them down over and over but it wouldn't work. I then moved the toaster to a different outlet and no luck. the toaster wasn't working. I then broke down... Austin came and told me that there was a problem with the breaker thing(not really sure what was going on), both in the kitchen and in the bathroom. the fridge was off and no outlets were working... i was broken. I cried and cried. I was tired, cold, hungry, dirty, and unhappy...

Austin had been working hard the whole morning trying to get the water working for me and to get the outlets working again. He was being so wonderful and was outside in the freezing air crawling under the house where there are dead mice to see if there was a leak in the pipes. When he saw me crying he came over and comforted me and held while i cried. I have to admit that it was ridiculous of me to have such a break down but oh well, I am a girl and i have learned from the situation. Austin made me laugh and then fixed the outlets so i could use the bathroom light once more to try to do something with my hair(which ended up being thrown up in a messy bun-ish thing). I made us toast which ended up burning and threw on a sweater to wear to my interview. I looked in the mirror and said, "Good enough".

We finally headed out the door and austin ended up being late to work, which isn't a big deal because it doesn't matter all that much when he comes in.

At 11:25am I headed into the office building where I was going to be interviewed. I sat in the lobby ignored till 11:32am when a receptionist asked if i was being helped and i told her that I was waiting to be interviewed. she said okay, he's in a meeting and will be out shortly.

well 11:45am came around and he walked out with a couple saying his good byes to them. He then walked right by me to another room and then back to the other side and said something to the receptionists and then left with one of the girls around my age. He left! He just walked right out and left without saying a single word to me! Not even an apology or anything! RUDE!!! I was upset. The receptionist came out and said that he had left (DUH!) and that she would interview me. So she talked to me for 2 minutes and then told me that I would need to come back again another time to talk with him, the guy who left. In my head I was thinking, so I was here when i said i would be and the guy that had the appointment with me just left and you don't know why?! So i have to reorganize my schedule to work around this guy that can't keep an appointment! how rude! Geeze!! So now he is suppose to call me and make another appointment to interview. I honestly don't think I will accept. I can understand now why this company has bad business reviews...

so after that disappointment I went and did the grocery shopping and then curled up in the car with a good book till austin was done with work.

we came home and found that the washer was still not working but our water was. That was good and bad news. I then hurried to fix us dinner because we were starving.

Overall the day was awful but it ended good as i fell asleep in austin's arms while he watched some of The Santa Clause. =)
