Finding Jesse Her Home

Tuesday morning i put up a another couple ads on craigslist to help find Baylee(thats what i ended up calling that girl dog) her owners and home. I added some pictures with a hope that someone would recognize her. Later that day a received an email from the St.George Animal Shelter saying that the owners had reported her missing late last week. They gave me their contact information and the contact information for her owner, John. Well i wanted to make sure that these people were really her owners. So i tried calling the shelter over and over but i just got a busy signal every time! I was a little annoyed at this point because who could they be on the phone with that long?! Didn't they know that i was on a mission to find this dog her home??!! Well after at least 5 failed attempts at talking to someone at the shelter i decided to call the actual owner. I didn't do this at first because what if he was a creeper or some weirdo?!

Well i called him and he actually ended up being a great guy. He and his wife had been missing their dog Jesse(her real name) since the 8th(the day we found her) and that they were so happy that someone had found her. I asked him to send me a picture of their dog to just make sure we were talking about the same dog. His daughter ended up texting me a picture later that day and sure enough it was our baylee, their jesse. I was happy and yet sad at the same time. She had run off because of the cows mooing. She is scared of it and took off. I guess it isn't the first time she has run off and the police up here have learned who's dog she is and where she belongs. It seems like everyone knows of jesse! haha And he explained that if she smelt really bad when we found her it was because she likes to roll in road kill and other dead animals! Ha ha Good thing i gave her a bath. =) It will be hard not seeing her smiling face in the morning any more. But i am happy that we found her home. =)

Once austin got home we ate dinner and then drove over to their house, which was only the next city north of us, and gave him jesse. john was a very nice man. He told us all about their garden that they have and that they sell eggs and then gave us some of their canned foods. Their homemade greenbeans and jalapeno peppers and green chilies. He would have given us more but we told him that we didn't require anything from them. It was our pleasure to have her with us. It was fun for duke to have a playing companion! John was so grateful and we were happy too. We didn't get a chance to meet his wife because she wasn't back from work yet but we learned that his son and daughter-in-law live in the next city up from them and meet in our ward building right before us. John said that him and his wife aren't LDS but that his children are. We look forward to meeting them. =)

It was so fun getting to know John. He has an awesome house with a good 2 acres, 2 dogs(the other is a 3yr old beagle and just the sweetest little girl ever!), soup chickens(haha), 1 cow, and some newly hatched chicks! And a truck! He is working on being self sufficient! Austin and I had just found our new best friend family. We hope to be like them some day but probably a few more acres. =)

We were standing at the door about to leave when he said now don't report me but this is a working stil(brewing thing) and we only use it a couple times a year and just for "medicinal purposes only". Haha we couldn't help but laugh with him when he said that. What a great funny man! Haha I bet his wife is just as great! Ha ha John has been the nicest person to us since we came. No one in our ward has even come close to how nice he was to us. It felt good to have someone talk to us. He invited us to come over anytime and we extended the same offer. We told him he should bring his dogs when he comes so they can play again. =)

So jesse is at her home now and we are down to just the one dog again but...

guess what?!?!?

Another will actually be joining the brewer family come end of december!!

Any guesses?!?!

okay i'll tell you since you'll never guess!

My baby!! My baby girl becca!
My parents are going to bring her down when they come visit after christmas!! We are so excited to get her! Whenever duke is looking depressed from missing his play friend jesse austin will say, "One more month duke and you'll have a friend again!" =) I will enjoy having my lap dog once more. duke doesn't quite fit on my lap like becca does. although...becca almost doesn't fit on my lap either because of all her...eh...muscles =) She is a very muscular dog =)

Well that's about all the big news i meant to write about the other day. Sorry this is such a wordy post. I usually don't make such wordy posts. But enjoy the story and enjoy your day!!

ps: Austin's Birthday is TOMORROW!!!!!! I am so excited!!! =) Birthday plans in movement even now while i write this!! =)
